If you really want to ruin your ipod by getting struck by lightning in the rain, considering donated your ipod to RFCN and use your cell phone or something instead.

Dont be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, make sure you aren't on a motorcycle.
If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time on a motorcycle, don't skid to avoid a moose in the road.
If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time on a motorcycle and you skid to avoid a moose in the road, it's better if you hit the moose than a car in the opposite lane of traffic.
